We have now had wii fit for 2 weeks. When I check in this afternoon with my Wii, it is going to tell me that I did not achieve my goal. Luckily for me, I really didn’t make too much of a goal. I can’t make my goal to be underweight can I?
I have enjoyed every bit of it though. I have unlocked a ton of stuff; Pete and I get into fierce balance competitions that could possible last for hours if it were not for school, work, baseball games, whatever. The most interesting thing for me so far, was to see that when I went away for a weekend and had no physical activity beyond a game of croquet, I gained weight! Now, my weight fluctuated every day, and that was fine, but this was the heaviest I had been in almost 2 weeks! BOOO!!
Maybe it wasn’t the lack of physical activity. More likely, from the moment we hit the road to the moment we got home, I drank more soda than I have had in a few years. Time to start drinking water again.
Anyway – Wii Fit. Love it. Some days I do balance games, some days only strength training (I am going to have kick butt abs by vacation time), somedays only yoga. Usually I try to mix it up a bit. The best part is that something new is always unlocked. Almost everyday I unlock at least one thing. Best one yet, although I haven’t actually done it… Freestyle Step. Set the timer, and change the channel. The wii remote plays the beat for you to step to, and you can watch tv. I did it for ten minutes and watched the screen just to see what showed up. A half hour would actually be a workout. So maybe I can do that when I watch TMZ in the afternoon :)
Overall: Not going to get me to lose any weight, but luckily I am a fat skinny person, so it may at least help me tone a little, and it helps me be a bit more motivated to go to the gym with Pete. Other result: I am painfully aware of my posture at all times now. no more sitting all slouched and curled up in a weird position at my desk chair, no I need to be sitting up perfectly straight.
weird.
